Impact Report: SKILLS4Water Innovative Training Programme
The SKILLS4Water Innovative Training Programme has successfully delivered four dynamic training sessions across Serbia, Belgium, Germany, and Romania, engaging young professionals from both higher education and the water industry. Developed by H2O People and rooted in the EJWP methodology, the programme focused on key soft skills including communication, leadership, resilience, cooperation, and conflict management. Each session combined interactive workshops, peer coaching, and real-world applications to foster personal and professional growth.
Evaluation results from participants consistently rated the programme as “exceptional,” with strong feedback on its relevance, engagement, and transformative impact. Participants reported increased confidence, improved collaboration, and a commitment to applying their learnings in both academic and workplace settings. The report highlights the programme’s adaptability across sectors and its effectiveness in building a community of empowered, socially aware water professionals.
To ensure long-term sustainability, the report outlines scale-up opportunities for universities, companies, research centers, and policymakers. Recommendations include integrating the training into curricula, issuing micro-credentials, and adapting content for local contexts. The programme stands as a replicable model for embedding soft skills into education and industry, contributing to a more resilient and human-centered water sector.
