Designing Learning Activities for Soft Skills in Water Education
The Skills4Water project is dedicated to transforming higher education in the water sector by integrating essential soft skills into academic curricula. This report outlines a comprehensive framework for designing and implementing learning activities that foster six key soft skills: responsibility, motivation, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and flexibility/adaptability.
Developed through collaborative research and stakeholder engagement, the learning activities are tailored to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, ensuring progressive skill development aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). These activities include role-playing, case studies, workshops, fieldwork, and interdisciplinary projects—each designed to simulate real-world challenges and promote active, student-centered learning.
By embedding these custom-designed activities into water-related courses, Skills4Water empowers future professionals to navigate complex environmental, social, and technological challenges with confidence and competence. This initiative supports the broader goal of enhancing institutional capacity and educational quality across Europe’s higher education landscape.
